All I Want for Christmas: A Toddler Wish List

This will be Brady's first Christmas when he will really enjoy opening presents.
I was excited to get a list out to family and friends.
Of course I wanted to encourage gifts that inspire learning. And I take on a pretty minimalist standpoint when it comes to having too much "stuff." So I put together a list that included a combination of experiences, purposeful toys and functional items.
I also have a list here of Top 10 Toys for this age group.

Without further ado, our Christmas list for our 18 month-old:

1. Clothes: 18-24mos or 2T clothes (He's a rapidly growing boy. Enough said)

2. Tumbling or swimming class membership: He's going to need an outlet this winter for all that movin', shakin' energy!

3. Madison Children’s Museum membership: We haven't visited the children's museum yet, as up until now he was a bit young for it. I can't wait to check it out and I'm sure he'll love it.

4. Bank: I hope to start instilling the importance of saving money at an early age.

5. Art supplies: he's really starting to love coloring and other art projects. He's still wanting to eat the paint so for now we'll stick with yogurt or water. But soon he'll be ready for things like water colors and play dough tools like these:

6. Bath toys: Tub time is perfect for sink/float experiments and pouring practice.
I love these that suction to the side of the tub and pouring the water makes wheels turn and such:

7. Ride-on toy: What toddler doesn't love zooming around?
I am absolutely in love with these ride-on toys from Prince Lionheart! They serve their purpose of promoting gross motor development without too many bells and whistles. And they go forward, backward and sideways!

8. Segmented toddler plates: strictly a functional item for working on meal time manners and healthy eating.

9. Housekeeping and gardening tools: the toddler age group love to be helpers. This broom set is perfect for little cleaner-uppers:
10. Musical instruments: music play has so many benefits. And thanks to his grandpa, our little guy really loves the guitar. (And since he doesn't read the blog, I'm happy to report I know he'll be getting his own as a gift.) I also love the learn to play piano for little fingers from Melissa and Doug.

Hope this list inspires your gift-giving for the little ones in your life this season.
Be Merry!
